Default New Location for Waterfest?

I've been reading a couple threads on Vortex where people want a new location for Waterfest outside of Dirty Jersey next year, what do you guys think? There are several reasons for it to move:

1. Theft
2. Traffic (1 lane road going to the track)
3. Hotel Lock-Down
4. Flooding
5. No self-serve gas stations

Seems like the ONLY people who wanted to keep it in NJ were people who live right near it, and even a lot of people who live there want it out. The ones who want it to stay were saying it's the only track that can handle it, others suggested Maple Grove, Carlisle, New England Dragway, and Lime Rock as possible locations.

#1 and 2 would be the only valid reasons to move the thing and they alone aren't enough to do so. The hotel situation is well deserved. As far as flooding, haha, lets plan an event in case it rains. The storms that went through there were far from the norm. As far a self serve gas stations, yeah, good reason.

New England? doubt the organizers would want to move it away from a central point. So, in my mind, an Eastern PA location would make better sense.

name another track that would accomidate all the event?

jersey seems to be the heart of the scene, moving it would draw less people... and like raf said those other reasons are stupid

New England Dragway. There's plently of tracks on the east coast, I don't think that's much of an issue.

Don't get me wrong, I doubt it will be moved. I think the fact that so many people want it moved is good enough reason to move it, but I can't see it happening. I also think the Raceway Park grounds are a great place to have it, but the area just kind of sucks.

I agree with raf and josh. Central PA would be a central location, but if they would have it in carlisle, the traffic would be worse. Possibly Hershey (would be large enough, but no drag strip), but not Carlisle...

Doesn't bother me if it moves or not...I will still go others will too. Can they make changes to improve? Yes. Can they stop the rain no. Most venues are setup this way a racetrack in the middle of nowhere to me this is a great spot for them they just need to improve on parking, security & roads out.

1.traffic in new england is just as bad
2. new england is out of the way for the majority of the people at the show
3.90% of the people bitching about raceway park were there last year and did the same thing...and will be there next year
4.trying to use people whining on vortex as "so many" people or a majority is lame and is like saying they are going to stop making flik wheels because people on vortex dont like them

I say hold it at Atco Raceway.
1 still in NJ
2 plenty of room
3 easy access to roads.
4 close to Philly and atlantic City.
Pan american nationals are held here every year. It is an awsomre vibe.
The have a stage for bands. (one thing waterfest lacks)
db can ride his scooter . They also have a track for auto cross not cones :P
show car area. Better food. Cheaper too and events are usualy cheaper unless a big venue

The biggest Plus is it won't conflict with my schedual. Last year I went to the PAN this year water fest .They alway do the same weekend

I already said that I knew it wouldn't do anything for people to complain, I just wanted opinions.

And I'd say more people than not at the show were Vortex members, so I'd say it's a good place to do a poll.

over all the only valid complaint is the traffic...but where would their not be traffic with that many people leaving at once...Atco is a good idea, but the thing is its probably booked for the next 2 Julys already...show promoters ususally start planning these things 2-3 years ahead of time

Only thing I realy don't like about english town does not happen on waterfest though. But at shpw and go it does. Thats the other cars that show up when you came to a VW show. Thats like hitting up supper chevy and watching hondas race

There is no way it would ever end up at Carlisle - the event organizers there have finally gotten the custom compact show out of their hair after years of hotel-trashing, unsafe driving, theft issues, etc...sound familiar? They're not going to invite the same sort of problems back to their venue even if it is a different show.
