Comments:
This car came about as a result of a sad series of events. You may have read the thread a few months ago about the white Jetta GLI that was rolled. Well, that was me and this is the result. Aaron basically swapped everything from the wrecked GLI to a $350 Golf that we picked up in Seattle. Not a bad deal really, we put a gallon of gas in it and after gapping the sparkplugs with a rock, drove it home. Literally the next day we had the Golf and Jetta together in the driveway and were busy swapping everything that wasn't painted silver. In two weeks we had completed the swap and I was back on the road. I kid you not, down to the hard brake lines everything has been swapped or replaced. The only parts that remain original to the Golf are the body panels, the glass and the carpet (I liked black better). Complete wiring harnesses have been swapped from car to car, subframes, rear beam and of course the precious turbo engine! I have to give my kudos to Aaron on this one. I can't thank him enough for all he has done but I'll try. Thanks pal!! I'm extremely pleased with the results. It's my super sleeper, 4 door commuter ass kicker. So far it has more than lived up to my expectations.

It's been a while since I updated my member ride post, so here's the list of new stuff that has been done to the car; It has a boost controller (a greddy profec b) so I can run 15psi when racing (10psi on the street). Aaron has fabbed up a prototype rear sway bar which works awesome. Camber bolts have been added up front adding 2.5 degrees or so of camber. And the most exciting new addition: It now has 205 50 15" Falken Azenis RT-615's. Damn those are a great tire! I recommend them highly to anyone who both races and street drives their car. As it stands this is still my only car and I drive it to work everyday as it sits.

A recent autocross, previous to my new tire purchase. (wet conditions do not like front wheel drive turbos)

http://www.euronationmotorsport.com/..._Autocross.mov (5.6MB)

We had the car Dyno'ed and she laid down 218hp and 228 ft lbs of torque at the front wheels!! She does drive like a torque monster I must say, with a power band that starts pretty much where a stock 1.8L 16v does. As you can see by the sheet below the torque curve is broad and flat (and very high up there!). What more could you ask for?

Here's me on the return road after making a 14.21 1/4 mile pass

Here's my staging up against the new Bahn Brenner car (I beat him in that race and below is the slip to prove it!)

And a few new pics of my car after racing. Yes that's me in the hat.

Its been an interesting summer, and I hope to make my car even more competitive next year at the autocrosses and the drag strip.

not quite sure. It had a coolant leak for a while there... maybe oil too.
The bottom end has 180,000 miles on it.

That's the difference in tire size. In the top pics I was running 195 50 15's, in the bottom pics I'm running 205 50 15's. They barely fit!

Also, thanks to everyone who has congratulated me, and to db for picking my car. This was completely unexpected.
