Default my mk2 gli

Owner Member Name: mike probe
Year: 1988
Make: VW
Model: Jetta GLi
Color: Tornado Red

Summary of the car: ok, so i got this car off of the original owner with 89,xxx on it, and i jsut hit 90,000 the other day. i got it bone stock, with the exeption of the window vents covers and the hitch (i<3my hitch it always saves my a$$...no punn intended). She's known as either roxy or the jett...and shes the honda hunter.

Pictures:

Engine Specs: 1.8 dohc 16v, lots of power for what it is. Car has new plugs, wires, ign. distributer, fuel injector seals, coolant, both fuel pumps and fuel distributer(all new bosch very $$), idle air control valve, and has the timing bumped up and i use 93 octane(no pings). Also, i took off the restrictor on the airbox and it has a kn drop in. it runs better than new and sounds amazing. Prev. owner put a new exhaust on it incl. cat(stock).

Suspension & Wheels: Stock suspension with sways front and back. Soon front strut bar. Prev. owner put new stuts in back and not front so it sits like a hot rod haha...we'll fix that soon. The wheels cost 50 bucks including the mostly bald and mismatched tires...so gimmie a break on them lol...their 16's. soon some 17's possibly black wheels? And a lil drop is def. in the works.

Exterior Specs: Mostly stock, has the sunroof and rear spoiler blah blah blah...i did some light tint, stickers ( one says honda hunter hehe ), and liscence plate cover. in the next set of pics i put up you can see the tinted front markers/side markers, red'd out tailights, healight brows, plaid tailpanel, and the removal of that friggin' dave slap sticker on the tail panel from the dealer i guess.
soon...badgless grill, e-codes, and grill spoiler. I need to put on the front airdam thats sitting in the truck, fog lights, shiny exhaust tips, and maybe some euro bumpers. I also want to get smoked markers and new tailights. My german front plate is going to get ordered soon...either will say hondahunter or ridindurty...we'll see. and no one better dare tell me to take off the hitch lol!

Interior Specs: O, the best part, pics to come...amazing recaro trophies in great shape just a lil wear nothin to bad. power everything except for that damm'd cranking sunroof lol...has a sony headunit and the aktv 6speaker system which is ok for now. also a mk4 shift knob which i love.
soon...new speakers, 2 bazooka bass tubes in the truck, and a plaid headliner.

Notable Acomplishments: Well, it survived a basketball net the other day taht i backed into, then it proceded to get stuck on my hitch and i drug it halfway down the street before my dumb friends told me it was there. o and it took 6 people to lift it off haha. otherwise, doesnt get the attention it deserves at shows!

Comments: i love this car to death, but it needs to stop dieing on me!! this thing sees more tow truck action that a neon.

also, all of the mods i am doing i am keeping them so that i can put them back to stock. with suchlow miles and how well preserved this car is, i dont want to ruin a good peice of vw history here...no hackjobs even though i really want a turbo, its not gunna be this car.

thanks for looking leave me any comments you have or sugestions please!!

ps...
heres my otehr whip that i drive when the jett is broken or there is bad weather...

It's not just the rear that is high. The front is high too. Proper suspension setup + wheel and tire combo with stock rolling diameter = it will look good.

17's should never be on a mk2. 16 is the biggest.

wow low mileage for a mk2. i say slam the hell out of this thing first with a nice set of 15's or 16's. 17's look bad on mk2's
