Default SoncJet's 2000 Passat Wagon 4mo

Owner Member Name: Brian & Rachel S.
Year: 2000
Make: VW
Model: Passat GLS Wagon w/ 4motion
Color: Colorado Red w/ Tan Leather

Summary of the car:
We bought this to replace our gas-guzzling Expedition last year, and now I have a hard time getting the keys away from the Mrs. to drive it occasionally. It's a daily driver, we don't have a garage, and we have 2 young sons - so you do the math why the interior isn't covered in suede, riding on coilovers, and have a lip kit with side skirts by now

Pictures:

Engine Specs:
Completely Stock 30v V6 w/ a K&N drop in filter
4motion w/ tiptronic transmission

Suspension & Wheels:

H&R 1-1/2" springs with OEM W8 "sport" shocks / struts
summer wheels - 17" Mille Miglia Spyders
winter wheels - 16" Sport Edition RS6 Replicas

Exterior Specs:
Mostly Stock
FK Clear Corners
FK Clear Side markers
FK Badgeless Grille
3pc Euro Plate holder w/ Rubstrips
custom Euro Plate
Debadged Hatch save for the VW emblem
Custom Stainless Steel hatch trim piece (Labrador nails do a wonder on VW paint)

Interior Specs:

again - Mostly Stock
NB Beige sunglass holder
OEM Monster Mats
Driver Gear armrest cupholder insert

Notable Acomplishments:
it's got 120k on it... hauls two boys and a yellow lab around... and parked outside 24/7/365 - not too shabby, eh?

3rd place - Bug Out, Manassas Va - Fall 06
1st place - Volksfest, Campbelltown, PA - Spring 07
1st place - SuperJam, Maple Grove, PA - Summer 07

Comments:
Future plans (hopefully in the upcoming summer months) include
Light Tint all the way around
painted engine covers
Paint and Install JMS Rear hatch spoiler
Update/ Swap out tails for something different
Euro Hatch (way down the road)

and a complete respray in Colorado Red down the road at one point.

We bought the car from Ed Sheets (formerly of NGP & Ecodeparts) - and I can't say enough about the condition it was in. If ever given the opportunity to buy one of his vehicles - do it - he's a good man, and a true European Car Guy at heart. I also have to give two thumbs up to Ray and Tim @ S&P Automotive in Palmyra, PA - I have zero time to tinker with and mess around with this car or my jetta - I'd recommend them to anyone if you ever need work done

The wagon looks great, Brian! The new wheels are growing on me. I still like the S4 wheels on there.

and just to make brian happy

those wheels are SOLD!!! never to go back on the car again. bwa ha ha ha ha

don't get me wrong - i liked the wheels. but it just seemed that everyone has either those, or the hp axis or evo (or whatever)... i've only ever seen one bling blingy chromed set - and they looked good... it's just the run of the mill 17" s4 wheel is for the lack of a better term - bland.

i'm not saying the millies are the end all be all wheel, but they just have "something" over the s4's besides, i got a SCREAMING deal on the MM's - $400 with 3k mile rubber and all i had to do was drive a couple hours. i scored a spare set of MM's at Volksfest to refurb (and to have a spare - just in case)

i ended up selling the s4's for a little more than what i paid for them, sold the tires that came on the spare mm's for more than i paid for the wheels AND tires... so basically, i got 8 wheels and almost 4 brandy new tires already mounted and balanced for prob. $250 or so - i'm not going to complain over THAT
