nah it's just a 1.6l turbo diesel. originally from an 85 jetta. it's weird though, it's a "CY" engine so it would be the right engine code to be in a mk1. but it's definetly out of a mk2. oh well, should get some boost once it's all straightened out. should be running tomorrow.

Pretty sure they're in stock right now, and if you need them popped, let him/me know.

Finally got it finished tonight, and got to drive it, for anyone that heard my car, it was pretty loud for such a powerless car, the turbo really quieted it down. has loads more power, in every gear, the only thing i don't like is how the governor kicks in at lower rpms, i knew it would since td's just have a lower setting, but it's kind of annoying. as soon as the turbo gives me a whistle i feel the new power above the old engine, but if the turbo isn't spooled it's just the same as before(duh!) hopefully i can have it out friday or saturday night. only problems with the engine/trans are that i am pretty sure the throw out bearing is poo, and i used my old water pump which had already made noise, but now it's louder, still doesn't like, and it's all never seized up, so slapping a new one shouldn't be too big of a hassle if i have to do it. but wheeeeee, loving the turbo diesel, can't wait to drive it some more.

went and sprayed the engine, didn't get as clean as i wanted, but it got all the weird stuff off atleast, now it's just little baby grease stains. i would like to clean the engine up a little bit still though, but it's running it's fun for now. yay, turbo.

Man take that thing to Jeff at rocketchip.com and let him tune it. He's right in red lion, pa. He will make that thing run like a champion. Best tdi tuner around, pretty sweet, I finally got to read through the thread. Now its time to start a tdi revolution!!!!

but it's not a tdi :^(. and it has no chip. i can do all the tuning myself, theres really only 2 thing for fueling to adjust, and then one more for the waste gate. does he build injector pumps though? cause i would love for somebody to put a 1.9 camplate and camplate springs into my injector pump.

AHHH. Sorry I had a dumb moment. Yes the 1.6t is a pretty simple motor. He does build injector pumps, he can also maybe build you a hybrid turbo, depending on how far you are trying to go with it. It would probably be worth the time just to talk to him, very insightful guy!

let me get them digits. for now though i just wanna get my intercooler installed and then do the free mods(more fuel, more boost, and remove the governor, hopefully i can do 25-30psi, which sounds crazy but it's not all that much) and then get squared away with paint and suspension. after that once i get some money saved up i'd like to build another motor for it. a 1.6l td hydro block with a 1.9 liter head (not a tdi head) and then go pretty all out on that. but who knwos if i'll ever build a motor. that's just dreaming for if i wanna make real power.
