Default Judging? They call themselves "professional"

I'm not sure how anyone else's experience was at Importwar but hopefully it was better than mine. They mixed the wild and mild class together what is up with that? And they mixed the two door and four door class together too. Don't get me wrong but congrats to all the winners you guys deserve it but when they have a national judged event with rules and guidelines then why dont they follow those rules? I talked to the head judge and he said if we would of had more VW's show up they wouldn't of had to mix them. I said what about all the other non VW classes that only got first place trophies because there was only one car in attendance for that class? He didnt know what to say. I mean if these are national events for points than if only one car shows up in that class than he gets all the points because later in the year he might get screwed out of a prize because one paticular show decided to throw him into another bracket. I mean if a rusted out Jetta shows all by himself well he should get the first prize he shouldnt lose points because he got thrown into a class with 2 door maxed out Golf's. Does everyone understand what I'm getting at? Plus, the "professional" judges were judging me in with the mk IV's even though Im a MK III. How stupid can you be? They had me down for second place in the MKIV class until they found out I wasn't MK IV. Then I said well why didnt I place in my MKIII mild class, and that is when he told me they combined the mild and wild and 2 door 4 door. What is up with that? Sorry to write all this-it isn't about winning or losing with me I could care less if I get a trophy or not I have enough of them sitting around I just cant stand ignorance. Thank you guys for letting me vent. And one other thing sorry to the Denny's crew that I left you guys all there when we rolled out but I thought I had to be there by 8 to show so I didnt want to hang out much longer in fear that I wouldn't get in. But it was cool meeting all you guys/girls. Have a good one!

Well Ian's car wouldn't start and we were woking on fixing it as you just left. Would have been nice to know you were leaving...We were there by 8 with no problem.

Sorry to hear you think the judges did a bad job but it is an import show. We are lucky enough to have an entire section of showfield and awards that go to only VWs. The cars that won were the best there, they should have won IMO. Afterall, it is only Import war, its a show open to all cars. I think everyone had a good time... You will win another one Tim. Sorry your day wasn't as enjoyable as some of ours.

Yes I agree don't start hating I agree that everyone involved and everyone that won such as Cory etc. definately deserved too I'm just saying the judging as far as classes and things could of been better.

And I talked to Andy (head of NCCA) and he said I wasn't the only one who showed a concern and he also mentioned I finished fourth.

Cory Sterling had 125 points, Eric Lecture had 122 pts. Then Jeremy Peters with 85 pts, and then me with 77 pts.

I love you guys, the forum, and the fun of VWs don't hate me because I was just voicing an opinion. There is no harm no foul. Peace!

im just saying that the people thatdid judge knew what to look for I had agreat time it was the best so far but the turn out was low so thatis why the awards were the way they were... I too have voiced my opinion I dont always agree with the way the ncca classifies the cars.. Look at my car for example the wihte golf yeah it me cory... I should be inthe wild class but thats the way they run things so we just have to shoot for a change thats all Its never fair when someone doesnt win we should all win but you have to keep in mind what its all about fun in the summertime :P

Thank you for your concern everyone has the right to voice their opinon. I was lead judge for the VW's. Everyone was judged with equalness however to embelish the point mentioned above...we did not have enough dubs to fill all the classes. First and foremost I put this back onto the Community. We were blessed enough to have our own space for two years in a row. If we want this to continue we need to spread the word and show everyone up that VW's own this area. We did have to combine a lot of the classes and categories due to turn out. If you go to any event all classes are depended upon on the amount of cars are there.

We hope to see you at Ski Roundtop on June 19th & 20th...LETS KILL THOSE HONDA's and steal those bragin rights once and for all.

The one thing that always kills me at this show (happened 3 years in a row now) is that one person wins like 5 times...

Waiting for awards to be called, and this "crew" in front of me of about 5 or 6 people all won 3-5 trophies EACH!!

I think they should split up awards to make it fair for everyone else. Ok, your car is nice, but let other people have some credit too, sheesh.

Hey guys... our "crew" took home 10 trophies at the show... and a couple of the guys got 3 trophies each. The judges are professional and are required to give the awards to the cars that best deserve them. If they won 3 times - they had the best car in those 3 classes/categories. Why would you guve an award to someone who doesn't deserve it? I mean - I definitely see where you are coming from there... but that's just not how they do it.

Also -- as for the lack of a turn out and the changing/combining of classes... well I took "Dopest Dub" in the VW Mayhem... and I got 1st place in the Best VW class for the NCCA portion of the event... well they decided to drop the VW class altogether because they felt that the VW Mayhem provided enough VW classing. No biggy... they did what they thought was best and I respect their decisions/

Overall - I thought it was a good show. I had alot of fun. Too bad the weather was supposed to suck.. maybe more people would have come out if it was supposed to be sunny.
