2000 1.8t timing belt ?
New to this forum, great info so far. I am replacing a timing belt, water pump etc on a 2000 Passat 1.8T 20V engine code ATW. I was wondering if the intermediate shaft has to be clocked a certain way when the mark on the cam sprocket lines up with the mark on the head and the crank is lined up with the mark on the belt cover. The car has 222,000 miles and this is the second belt change but first water pump. The oe water pump still looks brand new (plastic impeller). I was surprised when I looked over all the records to see that the belt was done at 110,000 but not the water pump. Any help on the alignment of the intermediate shaft would be appreciated.
