99 Passat GLX Seat Memory Function
Help. All features & functions of driver power seat work fine , but memory function inoperative. The "beep" signal which indicates that settings have been memorized not working. Car has been meticulously maintained (bought new) and no other electrical of function problems ever. Local dealers getting $120 hour (too high for me!). Checked fuses all seem ok.
Got a feeling control module may be bad but could be expensive. Anyone have experience with this and can recommend fix. Thanks Charlie D

Okay, found the fix!! If you have this problem first step is to "re-initialize" the memory function, Yep, got to read that owners' manual! If you have battery interuption (replacement , ect) you MUST move seat all the way forward to stop, all the up to stop and the backrest all the way forward to stop to re-intialize, bingo that was it for me. Memory works fine. Don't let the dealer sell you a replacement module ($400) without trying this first!
