99 Passat; won't start after refuel.
So i have a 99 Passat, and i love the car. It was my high school graduation gift few years back. Got it basically for the key (lol I'm not even lying). The car has begun to take that trip down hill. I've had the timing belt replace couple months after getting it.
One of the major problems is after i put fuel in, the car does not want to start. I have to hold the key and force it to turn on, and then press the gas pedal before the car shuts off again. I've avoided it by leaving the car on while fueling but sometimes it shakes and then shuts off regardless. Sometimes if i stop to hard when the car reaches the stop it shakes like it wants to shut off as well. Any ideas as to what may cause this.
Another one: which i looked up on and it seems to be the igniton switch problem. The wipers, DRLs, horn, ac fan, turn signals have all failed at the same time. ABS Light stays on as well. I asked a dealer how much it would cost to replace and he asked me was it the wiring that i wanted and quoted me $ 99 plus a 3hr labor at $110 an hr. Is it the right problem, and the dealer is overcharging right?
Thank You if anybody can give some insight.
