Default Help needed with Check Engine Light

I am in ned of some assistance with my 2001.5 VW Passat V-6 that needs to go to the emmisions check in Chicago, however the check engine light comes back on after 80 to 100 miles after we have changed the following items:

Both O-2 sensors and the mechanic said one was faulty so he replaced it twice.
One radiator sensor
Replaced the connector to the O-2 sensor and the car worked fine for ~130 miles and came back on.

I went to a local parts store and they connected a device to check the codes and it came back as faulty air pump ( checked it and it operates properly at start up as it should) checked the fittings and solenoid all is good.
Also had Check O-2 sensor bank 1 so I told him to replace both of them.

Any suggestions before I bring it back to the repair shop...I have to replace the air conditioning compressor and rack and pinion in the next week or two...OUCH!!

Many thank for your time, Alex

Default Check engine light resolved

All, After going through the service manual and getting the local parts store to show me the codes as to why the check engine light keeps re appearing......I found out why.

On the air pump, there is a PLASTIC line that in mounted to the engine that has a tendency to crack due to the heat coming off the engine. The line costs $129 at VW and that was the issue besides the O-2 sensors, etc.

The air pump only turns on at start up, but will trigger the O-2 sensor if its not operating correctly...UGH!!!

None the less, my VW is running smooth, A/C is ice cold and the rack is tight!!
