Default Mixed fuel problem of my PASSAT 2.0TDI

About 10 days ago, I drove my PASSAT 2.0 TDI (B6, 2006 registration, ran for 29000kms[18000miles] so far) to a gas station to fill up the tank.
Before I went into the gas station the gauge was stating “RANGE 20km(13miles)” which means the tank was nearly empty.
I told the refueling assistant to put 20 liters of DIESEL and right after he was done, started the engine and drove off.
After driving for 0.3 miles, the battery warning light suddenly went on and the engine died immediately afterwards.
I tried to re-start the engine, it did not work.
By checking the re-fueling bill out, I found out that the refueling assistant put GASOLINE instead of DIESEL.
I called the VW 24hrs emergency service and tow the car and put it into a VW service center in Seoul.
I strongly believe driving a DIESEL powered car with GASOLINE in the tank until engine dies means GASOLINE circled the entire engine and fuel-cycling and exhaust system parts. Therefore I requested the insurance company for an engine swap with a new engine.
I would like to ask you weather changing the engine is necessary in this kind of situation, please.
I personally believe it is necessary but I would like to hear it from VW, please.
Hope to hear from you as soon as possible, please.
