Default TIPTRONIC??

Hey all...

i am in the process of purchasing a 2000 Passat 1.8T with the five speed auto tranny w/TIPTRONIC.

the transmission shifts perfect when in D and if you use 4-2 that works fine as well...but if I slide the shifter to the right and try to use the tiptronic, it does nothing but shift by itself if i push it forward to a higher gear, it does nothing, if i pull it back to a lower gear it does nothing.... is there some sort of switch that controls the tiptronic that could have come unplugged or what could be the issue?????

I would think twice about buying it. The tiptronic should work the instant you push it to the right.

It is an issue can't tell you what is wrong without scanning the vehicle... I would have them fix that issue b4 you buy the vehicle...

Maybe is wet the tiptronic control, somebody throw a drink on the shifter and lost the electrical contact, try with a contact cleaner....
