Default Water sloshing noise

I have a 2003 2.8 Passat. I replaced the timing belt and I am now hearing a noise that sounds like water sloshing slowly back and forth. I only hear it in the mornings when the car has been sitting over night. At first I thought it might be something like a little air left in the heater core. But after many days driving with the heater on full the problem is still there. Any thoughts?

If it was engine cooling related you would have overheating problems with such an air pocket large enough to make water slosh around. Does you car overheat? Does your car make heat for the cabin?

Sounds to me like youve got water backed up in your Air vent from the condensed AC air. Your AC drain is probably backed up or not open enough at the exit point on the firewall on the engine compartment. This is common on VWs. Do you even get a damp spot on you floorboards? Is the sound mostly when you make a hard left or right?

I have no cooling issues and air from vents is hot. It is most noticable when making turns left and right. I have not checked for any moisture inside the car. My second thought was water in the battery compartment area but I checked that last night and it looked dry. Where would I check the AC drains? I have not really been running the AC, could I still get water trapped in this area?

Thanks

I checked out my firewall and mine looks nothing like that. I don't not even see anywhere that has insulation like that. Anywhere else I should look?

Sorry, I tried. Not sure on the newer Passats.

Regardless, the drain is somewhere similar on the Passat. Passenger side either on the fire wall or below under the floor board or by the wheel well.

Look for some tubing sticking out with maybe a rubber nipple on the end
