i was lookin around in my beetle yesterday and i was wondering for one, if my car should have a shift pattern cap on the shifter (feels like im shifting with a soda can...)
and second, can you put an aftermarket shifter on the beetles?? im not so sure

I'm assuming it's a manual right? Then yes you can get diffrent boots, i actually got the Euro one from www.parts4vws.com

Not sure, I would have thought so.
A aftermarket shift knob can definetly be put on, lots of places sell them, try ECS Tuning.

yeah, its a manual, it looks to me like the shift knob and boot are a one piece deal, thats why im asking, as far as the part from parts4vws, are you talking about the lupo knob and boot???

Default when i changed mine

i went to discoutn and bought a shift knob and boot and i unstapled the plaic piece off the stock boot and stapled it on the the new one
