Unhappy Aftermarket Cd/MP3 stereo wiring

Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong section but I could'nt find any Audio section.

Well after struggling for half an hour outside halfords, I finally managed to find the correct head unit removal keys for the factory fitted stereo.
Swapped the original for a sony cdx thing.
Only problem is now we have no rear speakers.
I understand that some VW's have 6 speakers and obviously the stereo I have put in has only four connections for these.
So I was wondering do I have to just mess about with the terminals or is there an adapter that will make 4 go to 6?
I have to open it up again anyway as I forgot to make sure that there was a constant +V to the head unit and it's not saving the radio stations.

Any help would be appreciated as my car knowledge is Ultra limited.

you would need to pick up a deck that has the 6 speaker option. Or what is so much easier, is to put 4 speakers on the front or vise versa. Whichever you want to do, say you want 4 speakers being the "rear" speakers, all you have to do is hook the 2 speakers on one side and the 2 speakers on the other. Seeing as how you said you do not have aftermarket amp. You will want to hook them up in series. Meaning the positive from the deck goes to the positive on your first speaker, then the negative from that speaker, hooks up to the positive on speaker # 2, then the negative from speaker #2 goes back to the negative on your deck. You want to hook them up this way because it decreases the load on your deck. You might smoke your deck if you hook them up in parallel.

I would do that
