Default 1989 Fox Fuel delivery problem NEED HELP, EXPLAINATION PL!!

I broke the fuel pump nipple off of the fuel distribution box and patched it so that I would be able to make it home. Drove for a couple of days with just a little dripping. Received a new part and swapped it out, and the car would not start. After cranking it for a while it would start then imediately stop. I checked the in-take pump, works fine. I can also hear the main pump working when I let off of the key. Pulled the filter hose off and no fuel was coming thru the filter, so I changed the filter. No luck. So I pulled the nipple off of the fuel pump and put it back on and got gas to flow thru the accumulator (the nipple was loose on the pump, so I think the holes were off slightly (on the connection). I now have fuel coming out of the filter, all though pressure is not the greatest. The car will not start. Could the accumulator have gone bad or is there a pressure release valve on the injection system ( air in the lines)? The car was running when i shut it off and the fuel in the fuel filter was quite dirty. PLEASE HELP!!!

remove banjo fittings from the injectors - place the four lines in a plastic container - cycle the fuel pump - then carefully replace the injectors - clean up any spilled gas - and attempt to re-start the car. Sounds like you got air in the fuel system - you need to displace the air with fuel (basically, you need to bleed it) -

As an alternate way of doing this - you can keep it alive on starter fluid for 30-40 seconds - which should be enough to get the gas flowing again -

I usually point the injectors in a plastic container and pull up on the flow plate. That way you know there's no air.
