Default 89 fox thanks steve

i ran a wire from pump to battery, got the fuel i need.the car is running now, thanks for those who helped!only thing is it's not running quite as smooth as before.I changed the distibuter cap/button/plugs and wires with no luck, also air filter.is it possible i messed up the seal on one of the injectors when i took the lines off?i did notice what looked like a little gas on the intake.I was thinking of the thermo-time switch, but as i remember when i bought the car it needed this and it ran worse and was shooting flames out the tail pipe,so i don't think thats it.do the injectors need to be turned a certain direction, i remember when taking the lines off they moved pretty freely,so maybe a seal there or something?

No sweat - if the o-rings that seal the injectors are leaking you'll be sucking air and the car will run lean - as it vibrates the seal will change - so you could have an uneven vacuum leak going on - as I recall the orings are pretty cheap - I'd change all four of 'em - use a bit of lube on them when you put 'em in so as not to rip them.

Check the rest of your vacuum hoses while you're at it - most cars of this vintage have vacuum leaks - they can drive you nuts if you're trying to make the car run well - I tend to just replace them all - it's fairly cheap and can make a real difference in how your car runs.

A puddle of gas under the hood is never a good thing - gas has a habit of catching fire - a good thing in the combustion chamber - a very bad thing elsewhere - try to figure out the source and fix it - car fires are NEVER fun ...
