Never ran into anything major, as few times I had had trouble getting the shaft free from the hub, but a little work and some PB Blaster always helps
I would pick up a Bentley or haynes if it's your firts time though.

i have the shop manuel and the bently manuel (sp kinda late for me)

I got it done, you know that the cv joint is bad when you have 12 pieces that are bigger than the rest and all the rest of the pieces are the gears from the cv joint

I just replaced the passenger side cv on my 89 fox.at first i was going to just replace the half shaft, but i got a good deal on the whole thing online.
I'm glad i did,,I was able to replace the whole thing, but i had to jack the car up, and also jackwheel up at different levels,i't seems like it will never fit in there, but with a little persistance it goes in,i know it would have been harder to replace the half..alll in all it took about 2.5 hrs.
