Default Electrical Issue with my Mighty Fox

Greetings all!
I have a 89 Fox 4 door. The Mighty Fox, as it is known. Just recently I started having trouble with it starting. I would turn the key and the starter would just make a "clunk" noise. I jacked it up and removed the starter (as well as the front engine mount to get to it grrrr!). I took it to get bench tested. Mr. Advance Guy said it was bad because of all the play in the gear. It would wobble around about 1/4 inch. Plus it was the original. So I bought the new starter. BAM $100 bucks gone!

I replaced the starter and the Fox started right up. Triumphant, I said to my wife let's go get pizza in the Mighty Fox! We left for the store- 4 miles down the way. On the way there, the radio stopped playing. It was on and equalizer was flashing, just the speakers didn't work. Besides that it ran great all the way there. Got Pizza, Fox wouldn't start.

My wife raises an eyebrow at me... I call a buddy and we jump it. It ran for 2-3 minutes, radio is on but speakers don't work, lights are dim, tach is jumping all over the place betwen 4-6K (engine is idling). Then it died. These symptoms all appeared in a matter of minutes!

AND really weird- after trying to start it, if you get out of the car and close the door, when you touch the metal, it shocks the CRAP out of you.

It is currently in front of the Little Caesar's Pizza in town, where me and my buddy pushed it back into a spot. We are going to see what we can figure out tomorrow with some daylight...and a tow strap.

I have no idea what could be causing all these problems. Anyone have any clues?

Thanks!
Rob "Sixtoes"
