I have a 88 Fox GL 1.8L. Problem - recently quits running while driving, and after turning car off, must turn on to restart. Any similar problems and/or fixes?? Sure would appreciate it. PS - love the site.
My '88 Fox did a similar thing. It cut out on me twice on a 50 mile drive one day. It then ran fine for 4 more days. I went to work and it wouldn't start when I got off work. I had it towed home.
It turned out to be a corroded connection at the "hall sending unit". It is located on the passenger side under the dash right by the wall.
Can't hurt to check.
