Touareg BD Recall Service

For those of you who don't know, the BD recall service is a VW Tech Bulletin which outlines how to "re-wire" the keyless remote for certain Touaregs. Some of the remotes only focus at close range.

I've done several of these Touareg BD services with little or no difficulty. The other night, however, I did a BD service and while it basically worked, the remote wouldn't beep when I locked the car. Everything else worked (alarm, unlock, trunk unlock).

I know there's a way to use Guided Functions to "re-activate" the beep, but I don't know how to do it. Also, I'd like to know how I can avoid this in the future--the beep not working after the BD service, that is.

Head into the measuring value blocks and find out which microswitch isn't telling the alarm system that its closed....is the radio in securely? That would cause the alarm to not beep.
