Whatever money bags, just buy one and shut the hell up, or don't and get something else, what a schizekoufe(spl?)
Yeah what I was thinking doing some research about a car, I should have just closed my eyes and picked one...

Thanks GLIGIRL for the info by the way, I was wondering why there were so many 2004's for sale.
heres a helpful tip, you suck

No problem, Josh. I figured if I can actually contribute to this forum with something helpful for once then I should hehe So yes, stay away from the 04's...but they are definately awesome trucks. I would love the chance to drive one eventually.

When I worked for VW as a salesman in college, I always jumped at the chance to drive them. The V6 is just as good as the V8 in my opinion, and they drive very very nice. More features than I could ever remember and the V8 model with the on the fly suspension adjustment is top notch awesome! As far as reliability consumer reports took a dump on them in 2004 and 2005, but the car has been steadly climbing since. And they are seriously the most comfortable SUV I have ever driven or been in. I agree that I would most deff. stay away from 04's since they were always in for service/problems...

trust me, if I could have found a way to fit it in anything I would have by now. I am waiting until I can buy one used like 10 years from now, then tune the hell out of it!!
Do you think it would fit in a A6? They already have the V8 in them, so the bay may be big enough. I imagine that the depth would be the biggest issue.

And the fact that its a 5.0 liter motor with 2 turbo's and associated piping. You need a lot of room. To put that motor in anything else would be a lot of work, can it be done, yes, but it would be cheaper to put the motor in the back of a car at that point and just make it rear wheel drive to help deliver the power.

Haha. General mechanics know nothing about VWs and hate them because European cars are different than American and Japanese cars, they are quirky and harder to work on. I don't think I've ever met a general auto mechanic who liked them. First off, it's not all about reliability, I'd rather drive a VW than a Civic becasue the pure driving experience is much better. Not to mention the fact that although some early Mk4's weren't reliable, you can't base your whole opinion (or your mechanics opinion, since you apparently don't think on your own) on 2-3 MY's.

I was really only able to afford an 04, and for what I would have payed for it I got a brand new truck, I just couldnt justify spending the same on a used car, especially after hearing all of the problems with that year. Thanks for the input everyone.
