Help with my first Transporter

Hi,
i'm 17 and i'm buying my first car this summer. I'm thinking about getting a transporter so i can throw all of my friends in the back and go touring the country.

I only have around £1200 to spend but i've seen a few nice transporters for around this price on ebay.

Is there anything i need to know or should look out for when buying????
