Has anyone else had this yet??? Ive had the van 4 months and have only clocked up 4000km ( about 2500miles ). I thought it was every 10000km or 6 months before changes, yet the dash says change oil!!! Seems a bit early to me, is this a warranty issue if I only go by the service manual?
Yes I had this issue on our Routan only after a couple of months. According to the dealer this happened because they did not reset the system when the vehicle was sold, the time started ticking from factory when the vehicle was built.
Not a big deal, they gave me a free oil change and reset the warning message.
Just had my first service. 6 months at 7000km. VW wanted CAD$145 plus tax so I went to Chrysler and it cost CAD$43, 10 minutes of my time and a free coffee... Hell, they made the engine, I guess they know more about it than VW. Warranty safe, extra cash in pocket, piece of mind. Its all good!
