Default Hello from Scotland, UK

Hey everyone, my name is Dee and I'm from Scotland.

I'm a 24 year old full time Student, currently studying Digital Media, Web Design, Animation, etc.

I've decided to join up on this forum because I've recently purchased a VW Golf E 1.4 (W Reg) and having issues with it.

Nice to meet you all

I've tried to create a thread in the relevant section but seems as though I am limited to where I can post.

Basically, I purchased my VW Golf E 1.4 a couple of weeks ago, I took it for a test drive and things were fine apart from a knocking noise coming from the engine.

On purchasing I knew that I would need a new clutch at some point, amongst some other things.

On the drive home with the car, I noticed that it was losing power every so often, meant having to hit the accelerator a few times to get it back to normal.

Recently I've taken the car into a local garage and had centre exhaust replaced and the brake pads, the clutch would have to wait because I couldnt afford to replace it.

Now that I've got the car back, the losing power problem seems to be worse. Sometimes the car will completely stop. I had the garage look at it, and asked them to remove and clean the lambda sensor because I had a similar issue with my previous car. Upon checking it, they told me that my car doesnt have a lambda sensor, theres no wiring for it and its blank where it's supposed to be? Is this normal?

Any ideas what I can do to fix this issue?
