Default Salutations!

First time joining a web forum, decided I'd better make it a good one. My girlfriend bought me my... 10th? 100th?... latest VW in the long line I've owned for my birthday for a whopping 500 bucks!

My baby: a 1981 VW Rabbit 5-door Diesel L in a beautiful central illinios winter salt road infused brownish silver green gray, no headliner, worn out 1.5 liter, soft clutch, and more rattles and clanks than a tin can full of change tossed into a paint mixer. I LOVE it (call me a massochist, I see art in the making)!!! I named her Gretyl

My other baby: a 1984 german irish hybrid who supports my addiction, has learned to tune out my ramblings and ravings about those rims, that upholstry pattern, and all of the million mods that are planned, and who works at an auto parts store! SCORE!! Her parents named her Kat.

Me: I'm a residential communications installation and maintenance technician for a company that specializes in the streaming of data, video, and voice communications (cable guy). I'm an avid gamer of various formats and platforms, a self-proclaimed proud to be geek, whos ready to stop letting other people do my modding for me and start to seriously turn my own wrench.

Default New member and owner of 2000 Jetta GLS

Hey everyone! Nice to aboard and apart of the VW family. I just purchased my 2000 Jetta GLS 2.0 yesterday and it is the first VW that I have ever owned. My name is Josh and I live all the way up in Maine. I am a student at the University of Maine (Orono) and am using my Jetta primarily for commuting right now (hence the stock 2.0). I look forward to getting your input and assistance in my switch from ford (ugh), and attempt to make my jetta last for as long as possible!

New chick to the forums. Just looking to get some ideas for my 99' Beetle. I've had it for about two years and looking to keep it a little while longer. 105k on it, but it runs like a champ.
