Hi!
New Member with the New Year. Last week just bought a 2003 Jetta 1.8T with auto and looking for service suggestions and found this site. Thanks for the info so far. Years ago I bought a new 2000 VR6 5 speed. Wanted a VW again for my new job transportation and found this super clean black jetta. Look forward to being here. Happy New Year!

Mods, and how it all started- had a hole in my exhaust pipe. Could've paid to have it fixed or replace it but i said f##k it, i'll upgrade.
-Got myself a Magnaflow catback. Now it Purrs.
-Figured i should let it pull in as much as it pushes out so i got an XAS cold air intake from ECStuning (love that website, lowest prices and easiest site to navigate. if anyone has any other sites they use let me know. i know of others but i like ECS the best so far)
-This morning i bought an Alpine cde-136bt (from best buy). The first unit had a mechanical issue (wouldnt grab disc), so i returned it. Next unit had a crushed antenna plug. 3rd time was a charm...i never bought the dash pocket from best buy cause it was junk, just ordered it from ECS..don't mind waiting for it though cause i removed all the trim, goo gone'd it all and rubbed off the rubber film with a scour pad. I will be painting all the trim this weekend (Satin black).
i have a leaking lower expansion tank hose. i ordered that along with a new expansion tank (mines duuuuurtayy). i get error p0171, i believe my vacuum lines are the issue (car has 143,000 miles with all stock lines) so i will soon be ordering the vacuum lines for the vacuum reservoir and EGR valve to hopefully take car of the issue.
after that i plan to buy a turbo inlet hose (just have to figure out what size i need)...then a DV valve and relocation kit. I think that comes with the (correct me if i'm wrong) 'throttle body hose'..the hose the goes into the intake manifold? if not i want that too.....then a boost hose kit and a discharge pipe kit. New Clutch and hopefully alll this by spring when i'll start cosmetics. Fog light kit, wheels, LED interior lighting, suspension lowering kit, maybe headlights and LED tail lights, TT pedal set

I purchased an '01 Jetta 1.8t About 6 months ago and have decided it is time to do a little bit of modding. She's bone stock right now but I will be purchasing a CAI soon and then on to a Diverter valve and a TBE. Sounds cliche... I know.
I will be coming to this forum for wisdom as I am sure I will be needing it. so thanks in advance!
