How'd you find the forum?: I have a 5 speed Beetle Turbo that will not shift into second gear and I want to fix it, looking for cheap and effective ways that you can help me with! I have a feeling the transmission needs to be replaced and I want to know if anyone thinks a garage with a basic-advanced set of tools can handle the job. The engine was rebuilt about 30k ago and there is about 138k on the chassis. I don't want to let this car go to the junkyard, and I feel like there is a lot of potential. It is not my daily driver and I wouldn't mind using it as a future project/track car. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK, I will take any advice!

HI I'm new to the VW scene, and would like to learn about my new car. I just picked up a MK4 jetta 1.8T. The mods it has are K&N cold air intake, Eurojet street front mount intercooler, Forge adjustable diverter valve, Giac chip, boost gauge, Bilstien adjustable suspension, and 2.5 inch exhaust with side outlet. I want to turn this thing into a monster, and i know you guys can help.

My name is Curtis, I live in SoCal. I've had my Golf TDI for about three years and it finally got to expensive to take it to a mechanic for maintenance. So started doin my own work and fell in love with my garage and car all over again. I joined the forum for more info on transaxels as the car is beginning to show signs of needing a new one.

How'd you find the forum?: Trolling the WWW while looking for the perfect (cheap and mechanically reliable) Westfalia. I once owned a '60s vintage Beetle (AC via rust holes in the floor!); then a '73 Westy in the 70s. Then a long blank period of non-memorable other vehicles. Now I plan to ramble all over in a new (to me) Westy - visiting friends and exploring great rocks.
More later.
