Default Mixing Tires - Please Help

Hi,

I have a 2006 Jetta 2.0T. Due to potholes, I have been replacing one tire at a time. I get a discount on Continental tires so I have been buying continental tires for my replacement (the stock tires were Michellin)

Anyway, right now I have two Continental tires (ContiProContact grand touring) on the back and two Michellin tires on the front.

I recent got a flat tire in the front so I am thinking of replacing both of the front tires with Continental tires.

The question I have is whether I should get Continental ExtremeContact DWS (ultra high performance) tires in the front even though I have 1-2 year old ContiProContact grand touring tires in the back. I really like the high performance of my jetta but I don't want to spend the money to replace all four tires.

- Thanks

We do recommend replacing all 4 tires at a time when you can. But if you are only replacing two make sure you put your new tires on the rear of your vehicle. Here's a link to some more information on it.
