hi cody, i was just curious, i have an 02 jetta 1.8t, dunno much about them and i was reading a post of yours about installing a blow off valve on the 1.8t, i was wondering if you know where i can get a cold air intake that i can hook up the original one into or should i install an aftermarket bov on it
Fair enough.. I'm by no means an idiot I've built several street cars and trucks from the ground up. My specialty is engines and car audio, I've done installs that were on the competition circuit for a couple of years and many for my personal vehicles encompassing way more then an amp and subs. I've never owned a turbocharged or blown vehicle and after much research, narrowed it down to turbocharging a vr6 24v .My original post was a hijack, looking back i should have stared my own thread, I didnt mean to advise him to turbocharge a vr6..I voiced in terms of getting the most for your money,Anyway, I'll drop it if you will, and if I ask for advice and get shredded I'll fight back with anyone.
Yes, I can help you with the budget and if that's how you feel about my disposition towards the "deviation" from the normal swing of things that's fine but to be honest it keeps the fart cans and the giant wings at bay and that's all I care about because people like that "pollute" in there own ways when they think they know everything about a car and start telling people to buy ebay turbo kits and buy "custom" exhausts with a muffler tip from autozone for when they "hit vtec" it'll free up 25 horsepower.
Also I didn't appoint myself "Super Moderator," it was given to me by the administrator and I don't care about it and to be honest, I'd rather it be just plain moderator. This is me as a person, and I come off as an asshole and I know that, but it's proven effective so far and I don't respond well to an attack on my person when you don't really know me, which resulted in the response you got from me.
I've been a lurker on this forum for a couple of months, and the trend I have seen is you and a few other members target and ostracize any new members that aren't obsequious toward you. I posted a response on a thread that did not involve you at all. You responded with "facepalm". When I responded to that, you did not send me a private message(which you now seem to be a fan of), but you called me an idiot. Your very lengthy response defending yourself and attempting to dispute my conception of your motives illustrates your true priorities. I never implied that you were paid for your "helpfulness" on this forum, but you proudly decry the title "Super Moderator" which carries with it a certain responsibility. You do seem to have a fair amount of knowledge about MK4 Jettas, but your ego and attitude pollute every bit of advice you offer to those you deem worthy enough to cast your pearls upon. I have 20k to drop on a Jetta, can you help me or not?
id like to thank you for all your help with the questions ive had with this car. Ive never owned anything but japanese cars so these are kinda new to me. You have tipped the scale in me buying a 1.8t vs a Spec V sentra. Thank you again!
Hey.... thanks for the advice!!! I thought it was wierd that the headlights were doing that. I have 2 GLIs same year but one is a stick and the other is auto. I love the stick but the wifey likes the girly auto.. lol
hey man i see you give good advice and seem to know your way around a vdub. anyway, i was noticing i think with the cai i put on my 2000 jetta vr6, was more sluggish than stock. like throttle response was worse. If there isnt any passages on the bumper on a jetta to the wheel well, how is substantial air getting in? ever think about cutting out the backside of the bumper where the long oval holes are on the bumper to let more air through there?
