    Hey man, I saw a post You were in about doing an auto to manual conversion 2 years ago and I was wondering if you ever had any luck. I'm actually in socal too, not a lot of cool vw guys down here so was looking for some help with mine. I have an '05 gti 1.8T

    Wow I am so sorry this reply took so long.
    I didn't even see this message come in. anyway,
    I bought the rack set up on ecstuning.com. it's just the basic vw factory bars (like $175) and the rocky mounts attachments ($80 each)
    I highly recommend them, and I believe ECS is having a sale on the mounts right now

    where did u get that sweet roof rack? i might be going to montana for 5 months this summer and everything i take has to fit into (or on top of) my car (gotta love a hatch)
