hey fellow vw freaks! i've got a question. one of my hoses tore off yesterday, so i bought a hose and all that fun junk for it. the hose that tore connected from my radiator to.. umm... something else.. but my question is, do i have to drain my coolant/radiator before i put in new coolant?
I am not sure about the 84 rabbit, but I know mk3 and mk4s have special "lifetime" coolant-red in color. I also know that that specific coolant (g11 I think for mk3, and g12 for mk4)-(correct me if I am wrong) is pretty expensive. so just check to make sure if you need to put in a special coolant. and like TNP said, if you havent put new coolant in, it would probably be a good idea to do so.
well if u haven't had the coolent replaced recently it mite be a good idea to do all that. but on the other hand if u recently replaced the coolent then jus replace the lost fluid.
coo coo! Thanks for ur help... since my coolent was completely drained because of the torn hose, i just replaced it with a new hose (obviously) and coolant...
cool cool glad to hear u got everything back in working order.
