Anyone seen the new Phaeton commercial? The one with the kid running the red R/C Beetle.. kinda kewl. a stately brother of our ranks. Too much for me, but I'm sure someone will Euro one.

Well, I get to see em every day at work. Its basically a frilly A8L. But the name I am beginning to call it is: Phaelure. I don't think its going to sell well. The Touareg has been selling, but for the money I think people would rather be driving an Audi. Its a very well made car, don't get me wrong, but its doubtful people will consider this against an A8L, BMW 7 series or an MB S-class. If I ever bought one, the first thing that would happen is a complete debadging. Then nobody would know what it is.

Yeah, for the most part, anyone spending that kind of cash on a car is looking for a status symbol and VW isn't quite up to snuff with what they are going for. Not really a "people's car" anymore I guess. It is definitely an awesome car though.

holy crap!!!! It weighs 5400lbs!!!! (W12)

I saw it the other day at the dealer... I thought it was an increadible car. I live near Weschester, and the Toureg has been selling like crazy. I figure that the people who bought the Toureg, who want a car, or people who they are friends with will surely buy it... the Toureg is gonna give VW that status that they are apparantly after...

what ever though, I'm so buying the v10 deisel toureg... someday

Haven't seen it but what do you all think of the other commercial... the cognotive recognition one. I think it was retarded.

Couldn't be as bad as the "escape perception, embrace reality" Accord commercial. That one was bothersome.

I saw the commercial-very good idea. have you guys seen the phaeton website-I believe its the german one-very sweet-most innovative navigation I have every seen. I dont know where the link is anymore-I might have it at home. but it was the one with all the stars on it. very very sweet. And has anyone looked at the new technology in the phaeton? there is some sweet shit on it. lots of thinking went into this vehicle. If I had the money, and liked larger cars, this would be in the driveway of my house. def debadge it. very stealthy looking. yes they are expensive-$64,600 for base 8cyl. Up to $84,000 for base W12. check out the video about it:

I like the new Touareg commercial I recently saw on the Spanish channel. It's a Touareg and a slammed lowrider right next to each other at a light. The lowrider's hoppin' up and down until it gets itself to a desired height. The guy in the VW just looks at the other guy, rolls up his window, and then hits a button that slowly raises the Touareg from its base stance to true SUV mode. Then just drives off smiling. Ha!

I think it will sell even though it is quite pricey. There are so many people with a ton of money to burn, and for all the features you get inside i think it will get peoples attention. I understand VW isn't really a status symbol but hey it's gotta start somewhere. People spend a lot of money on really stupid stuff, why not buy a car with a lot of new features?

i liked the commercial. one of the few these days that actually show the car at more than one angle. the way they did it was very tasteful.
