I have a 06 Jetta 2.5 Value Edition. It has 81,000 miles on it. My brakes are bad. At first they were squealing, then starting grinding. Now, the dont squeal or grind, I just hear it scraping.... I procrastinated getting them fixed, cuz I was out of work for 8 months, and I just started working again, and haven't had the money to get them fixed. I know I am sliding on them, and I try not to brake hard. I have been getting outrageous quotes from shops to replace them and the rotors.
If someone is familiar with the brake system on new model Jetta's, please let me know, so I can know what kind of parts to purchase and what expenses to expect, and if I need to order parts. I plan to purchase the parts and have someone fix them instead of bring it to a shop.

I had that issue with my back brakes but it was in the hundreds If I remember right... the longer you wait though the worse (and more dangerous) it'll get!
