I am in the process of rebuilding my 2002 turbo engine.
I have the "cracked rods". I have not built engines with this type of rod/bearings and was wondering if there was any special attention I needed to pay when attaching the rod bearings to the rods and caps. The bearings are not keyed to the rods and I am concerned about them turning in the rod.
When I was cleaning the rod bearing surface there seemed to be some kind of gummy residue.
My repair manual does not address this.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
