After 3 years of research, thinking, and looking I may have found a VW. It is a 1967 VW Westfalia. I don't know everything about VW's, but I have read some and have an idea. The guy wants $500 for it. It doesn't seem to be rusted out and is mostly complete. The motor comes with it, but is not in it.
Does it seem like a good idea? Thanks,Scott

$500. is not a big investment. If you are serious about restoring a VW it's worth the investment. Things you want to look for when purchasing a classic are:

- Solid body & Chassis
- Low to no rust
- Interior (make sure everything is there)
- Engine clean and running condition
- Electrical, does the basics work.

Those are some small points to look over. I would also recommend picking up a few books like "How to keep your Volkswagen alive". Best of luck & welcome!
