Don't know why I didn't post this before, but here's a money saving tip. You can change your oil FROM THE TOP OF THE ENGINE. Since the oil filter's on the top too, there's no need for ramps or lifts. I use a Mityvac MV7400 vacuum pump made for extracting fluids. (I had bought it for my boat, since one must suck it out.) The extraction tube runs down into the sump through the dipstick tube, and you can then suck the old oil out in about ten strokes of the handle, leaving only a teaspoon or two in the sump. Change the filter from the top, and you're all set. The savings over just one dealer change will pay for the cost of the pump. I've got a 2010 CC.

That's cool but I wonder if you have to remove that oil drain plug since it collects those metal shavings out of the engine. Don't think it would keep collecting as good as it should if you let it keep building up?
