Greetings! Has anyone else who installed an EMPI disc brake system ever had their e brake to lock up? I can't even drive the car this way. Mostly this car sits in the garage and I had the e brake engaged for probably months and then noticed there was no release of the e brake between the seats when I tried to disengage. The springs on the calipers are tight and I can't budge the cables.

Right now I'm considering opening the bleeder valves to release the pads, which have always been too tight and never sized. I tried to drive the car on my street in 1st and reverse to unlock the problem. It didn't work. Anybody??

I have the calipers off now and they both blew a seal, brake fluid on the piston face and inner pad only. These are the chinese EMPI calipers-no casting number and no markings of any kind...and they are shit from the getgo. Kit doesn't even have 5 miles on it.

Should I rebuild the calipers and if so, who makes the kit? EMPI does not.

EMPI also ships the same disc brake kit made by Varga in Brazil.
I'm sure Varga is superior to the nameless chinese junk.

Which Varga caliper works for a caliper swap-out?

Thanks in advance...
