Hi there. First post of many. A friend is mine has a '86 VW Scirocco with a engine thats is from a '93 Jetta 1.8 but the head is a 2.0... We checked everything before torquing them down With the new head gasket. Have started the vehicle in the past and ran for a while only to over flow and not take any more coolant. Running past 180 and turning the engine off for another day of work.. Really want this think running. Starting to think the head gasket is to point the finger but also water pump from the borrowed engine. Any help? THANKS!

did you ever solve this? I don't know about your specific engine, but had a car once that puked after a rebuild until we realized the thermostat in the hose to the radiator was in backward and not opening because of clearance when backward.....
