Hello, I've just finished basically a full rebuild on my '95 Golf 2.0 5-speed and the only thing left to get it street legal is getting the speedometer working. I've narrowed the problem down to the vehicle speed sensor and when i tried to take it out all i got was the top plastic piece with the electronics in it, the orange/red gear is still stuck in the transmission and, because it's filled with that nasty transmission oil, I can't see the gear to see how to get it out and don't really want to ruin my tools by covering them in that shit. I was wondering if it should be relatively easy to get that gear out and if mine being stuck means that it's broken somehow. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
