Good find. I would put ti in a rabbit. Power to weight ratio is better than a mk2. Did you get the tranny and ecu and wiring with it. If not and he has it i would get it because if the car you wanna put it in wasn't a 16v already then you'll be spending lots of $ getting togehter all the parts.

a friend of mine is putting a VR6 engine in his GTI. So he has a 16V just sitting there! I offered him $200 and he took it. I drove his car about a month before he did the swap, so I know the engine is good (and peppy)!

Now all I need is a car to put it into. I was thinking of buying an old Golf and converting it to 92 spec doors, trim and bumpers. It would be wicked if I could just find a 90 - 92 GTI with a blown motor.

This should keep me busy for the summer!

That's good. It's a pita to find all the litle stuff when doing a engine swap. It's best to grab everything you can. Good luck and let us know how everything turns out.

yeah let us know how it turns out. as the car goes, i would try to find an 84 GTi, bad ass car!
