After driving our 2000 Cabrio..it became hot outside so we put the top up and used the AC. Worked great..stopped for a short time at a store and when we returned..the car started right up, but the "BRAKE" warning light was on and the AC was dead. NO fan, no lights on the AC or RECIRC buttons...My wife thought that the computer might need to be reset, so we pulled over, shut off..then started the car again. No "BRAKE" light and the AC was ice cold all the way home. What can I do to keep this from happening in the future?

ALSO on the brakes..the pre-owned dealer that I Bought it from did a minor brake job on the rear pads before we took delivery. The rear brakes have a slight grinding noise when I start off in the morning, but it goes away. Is that the new pads? and the whole brake assembly seems to have a kind of white powdery looking coating..Normal?

Let me knw via e-mail or on the forum..thanks!
