Hi everyone:

I just purchased a used 2013 Jetta SE. It came with a three button key fob with the switchblade key broken off, with a ring attached to it that holds a generic plain key. The fob works to lock and unlock the vehicle. But if I lose that I am up the creek.

I have been reading that it is possible to buy a new fob case with a blank key; your place the old electronics from the fob you were using, have the key cut and voila!

Or is there a cost effective way to buy another fob and have the key cut and programmed ?
