Hey everyone. Hope all is well with you.

Just a quick question, and it's more of an annoyance than a problem (I think) but the person who owned my Jetta before me had to replace the ignition (I don't know if this is related to the "annoyance" or not) but the clock and odometer on my dash is constantly on.

Is this a bad wiring job, or is this supposed to be this way? I see nothing mentioned of it in the owners manual.

Could this potentially kill my battery if I was out of town for a few days without turning on my car?

Is this something even worth getting fixed or bothering with?

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Oh, it's a '97 Jetta GLS.

That has nothing to do with the ignition.... the clock and the odometer and always supposed to be on... they function independently from the rest of the electrical system
