I'm going to aquire an 84 rabbit gti, which has the 8v, nothing done to it except lowering springs, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me in a ballpark figure how much it would cost to put a 16v in this car, total cost to buy it, put it in, and anything else that would have to be done ..

well, to put a new engine in my car, for someone else to put it in, was like $1800 to like $1100. its going to be pricy to have osmeone else do it for you. what color is the Gti? i had a black one! loved her till the day she died. DAMN ASIANS!
