I Just bought a 2000 golf 1.8 from the wreck auction that was hit in the front. It's going to need a little more work than I originally thought, so instead of just buying the sheetmetal, bumper cover, headlight, rad, and core support, I'll be money ahead if I look for another car that has side or rear damage and put that front end on this car. There's 60 something golfs in the entire country running through the auction in the forseeable future and 900+ jettas. From my searches it looks like I'll most likely end up with a jetta to get parts off of. My questions are: is there anything I should know about this swap, or is it pretty straightforward? And the next is: Are the radiators, condensers ect different between a 2.0 and a 1.8t? Thanks

You just need the hood, rad support, fenders, bumper rebar, bumper cover, grill, and headlights from the jetta.
