Just a wierd question. Why is it that as far as the automotive world goes why do vws in general run at lower rpms and have lower redline than just about everyother car made. I 've seem other people tachs go as high as 9 or 10, grand. dsms mostly. Ours stop at 7? anyone know why that is?

Most cars don't go up to 8 or 9k, some Japanese cars do, but most don't go over 7k. Honda's do because that's where VTEC engines have all their power, up high. My Dad has a Tiburon V6 and it red lines at 7k. And also, if the tach goes to 9k, that doens't mean the engine can safely go that high.
