i need to add to this with step by step instructions, too busy with school now. i thought this may help some of you if this is something you got planned. i really like it!!

i made the whole thing.
bottom is wood and the top portion is from 1/4 inch plexiglass. bleveled edges keep it on track and hold it in place.

no i don't think i took any pics while i was making the tray. the bottom is a solid piece of wood maybe a 5/8 thick and then i used a dovetail router bit and routered a big slot; everything except the 1/2 or so on the sides. the factory cubby is wider at the front than the back so you have to take that into account with the design.
then the top part i used 1/4 plexiglass and used a band saw to get the correct angle to match the dovetail bit............and went from there

That's really cool man. Very intuitive work there. All I want to do is plop mine into a cell phone holder! Obviously that's not as much thought as you put into yours.
