Hey all, i just bought this car and was told it just wouldn't start. being a mechanic i figured it would be a fairly simple fix.... Yeah right! Motor was seized. Of course i drove over 5 hours past Bellingham after working 8 hours and drove back to Portland. Now i have another motor that the guy says broke a timing chain, but had it repaired, and 1200 later when it was started, it wouldnt run right. He says the mechanic told him it needed a crankshaft, and spent 300 on parts the rest on labor. So my question is, since this motor is on a stand and it's very obvious it has a new head gasket. What can i do to ensure the motor is put together properly? Should i just pull it apart and see maybe the head was damaged on a seat somewhere or another bent valve. Also, are there any good literature books on tips for rebuilding this thing? Thank you for any input u may have....
