New Beetle Turbo Diesal

Does anybody have any familiarity with the Beetle Turbo Diesal engine? How does it perform in relation to the gas turbo engine?

90 hp 1.9L TDI
Displacement: 1896cc (1.9 litre)
Compression ratio: 19.5:1
Max. torque: 155 lb. ft. @ 1900 rpm
Max. power output: 90 hp @ 3750 rpm
Engine management: EDC
Fuel: Diesel

1.8T specs
AWP

Displacement: 1781cc (1.8 litre)
Compression ratio: 9.5:1
Max. torque: 174lb.ft.@1,950-5,000 rpm
Max. power output: 180 hp@5,500 rpm
Engine management: Motronic

1.8T - AWW, AWD engines
Displacement: 1781cc (1.8 litre)
Compression ratio: 9.5:1
Max. torque: 162 lb. ft. @ 2,200-4,200 rpm
Max. power output: 150 hp @ 5,800 rpm
Engine management: Motronic

What do all these numbers mean? Comparable torque but considerably less horse power

And to help out what this means:

The torque and horsepower is really same force, however torque is applied around an/the axis.

Torque is what get's your car going(moving), horsepower is what keeps it going (moving).


Think of HP as fuel for Torque.



Unlike some HONDA dealer tried to tell me (the physics masta
) that and I quote:

"You buy the horsepower you drive the torque" Well Honda DUDE ----> BULLSHIT!
